For what it’s worth, I wanted to submit my own answers to the two key questions on the invitation:

What was the broad question that you most wanted to get an answer to during your time in the program?

In what ways can the investigation of a single understudied language (Tlingit) advance debates within theoretical linguistics.

What is the current status of this question? Has it been answered? Did it turn out to be an ill-conceived question? If it’s a meaningful question as yet unanswered, please tell us what you think the path to an answer might be, or what obstacles make it a hard question.

Well, needless to say, it’s still very much an open question 😉 It’s been answered, in part, by work both by myself, as well as by folks like James Crippen (UBC) and Jeff Leer (UAF).
